Homegrown. Homemade
About Us – Rosenberg Creek House
Welcome to Rosenberg Creek House, a cheerful little farmstand at the end of our drive on Dale Lane near Arlington, Nebraska. We’re Jeff Rosenbohm and Lynn Bergemann, and this is the place where our empty-nest dream became reality.
We were looking for a spot where we could spend these years doing the things we’d always imagined—growing good food, baking from scratch, and sharing it with neighbors and travelers who stop by. One evening on the deck in Bennington, Jeff asked, “How do you feel about moving out to an acreage?” That simple question set everything in motion. Lynn kept a spreadsheet of every property we looked at. The first time we visited the Dale Lane acreage—bordered by creeks on two sides—it was already being called “the creek house.” The name stuck, we added “Rosenberg,” and the rest followed.
From Hobby to Farmstand
Lynn has been catering and baking for more than 30 years. She’s always loved creating treats for others. Jeff saw our little slice of heaven as the perfect place to share the fun we were having on the acreage. The farmstand was born and has just taken off from there.
A typical day revolves around the oven. Thursday through Sunday we bake. The sourdough starter is ready, loaves are bulk-fermented, shaped, and cold-proofed overnight. Cinnamon rolls and cookies get prepped, baked, and packaged. By morning the treats are frosted, packaged, and waiting in the farmstand by 8 a.m. for the first visitors. Then we start prepping the next day’s batch. The weekend flies by with chores and baking—and we love it.
Everything we sell is made from scratch right here in our kitchen. Lynn re-certified through the ServSafe Management food safety course, obtained a cottage license, and secured an egg number from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. Combined with family recipes and fresh ingredients, that care is what makes our baked goods stand out from anything mass-produced.
What You’ll Find Here
We specialize in farm-fresh eggs, pastries, and cinnamon rolls. You’ll also find a picnic table, cold drinks, and a few “visiting” chickens from the backyard coop relaxing under a nearby tree. Our garden holds more than 70 tomato plants plus cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, and a plot of sweet corn. In the fall those will join the offerings too.
Why Arlington
We chose this corner of Washington County because we love the community. The very first thing we did when we moved was meet our neighbors. We found a lovely piece of land, but it would be worthless without the great people we’re surrounded by. Arlington is a smaller community yet close to everything. We chose well—and the welcome we’ve received has been warmer than we ever expected. Our favorite moment after every weekend is reading the kind comments left in the guest book and on our Facebook page.
Looking Ahead
There are so many things we want to do that it’s sometimes hard to decide what comes first. We’re growing more produce, have planted fruit trees, and have additional acreage to work with. We’re also looking at adding livestock and possibly hosting events down the road. Five years from now we hope to offer even more of what this place can grow and create.
Rosenberg Creek House started as a way to share our passions—our property, our love of connecting with people, and great food. This is a wonderful enterprise, but no matter what happens, it will always be our home.
Stop by, grab a cinnamon roll, say hello to the chickens, and stay a while. We’re glad you’re here.
